Your Therapist,

Brad Milliken LMFT

It’s not necessary or even desirable to know a lot of personal information about your therapist, but a general idea of who you will be working with is beneficial, and you deserve to know the background of someone who you will be confiding in.

Brad is a Bay Area native, growing up in Walnut Creek, then Alameda. One relevant fact is that after college, Brad worked and lived in South America for a couple of years. This overseas experience gives Brad a broader perspective that translates into greater appreciation and understanding of cultural differences. Given our diverse Bay Area, this quite beneficial. Brad also traveled the world as a professional photographer, which expands his cultural perspective even more.

Brad’s psychology training began at Santa Clara University, earning a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. The State of California requires an internship of 3,000 hours of clinical experience before taking the licensing exams. Brad completed this work at Bill Wilson Center, also in Santa Clara. Brad is fully licensed to practice psychotherapy by the Board of Behavioral Sciences, part of the California Department of Consumer Affairs.
